Day One
'Marco Polo' sails from Tilbury this afternoon.
Day Two
'Marco Polo' arrives in Amsterdam, great city of canals, step-gabled houses and cobbled squares, all dressed ready for the arrival of Sinterklaas and alive with festive cheer.
Several Christmas markets dot the city, and of course the city's other attractions - the famous Rijksmuseum included - are open. Don't miss the opportunity to take a canal cruise, perhaps the best way to view some of the illuminated buildings on the Prisengracht and Herengracht.
Day Three
The port of Zeebrugge is a short distance from the exquisite city of Bruges, one of Europe's most enchanting places. Here the central market square boasts an ice rink and stalls selling all manner of seasonal specialities - don't pass on a waffle or warming gluehwein during your visit - and of course Bruges's famous chocolates and lace.
Day Four
'Marco Polo' arrives back in Tilbury.
