Itinerary
Day One
Leaving the local area in the morning we travel to Hull for our overnight sailing.
Day Two
Our ship arrives in Rotterdam/Zeebrugge in the morning, and from there we'll head to to Rouen, lovingly restored capital of Upper Normandy with its Gothic cathedral, famous mechanical clock and monument to Joan of Arc.
Explore the city's narrow, bustling streets with their past half- timbered houses before we continue to our hotel.
Day Three
Travel along the Seine Valley to Giverney, once home to France's most famous artist. Monet's house, with its attractive pink facade, has been restored to its original beauty. Wander the garden paths, then reboard the coach to head to Paris.
In this, the incomparable, 'city of light' you'll be free to explore or join our optional sightseeing tour, which includes a river cruise on one of the famous 'Bateau Mouche'.
In the evening, many will want to join our optional walking tour. Visit the lively Latin Quarter with its cafes and bistros, and Montmartre, the fascinating artists' quarter that hugs the hillside beneath the pearl-white dome of Sacre Coeur.
Day Four
After breakfast we'll check out of our hotel and head to Fontainebleau. Discover its magnificent chateau, set in 62,000 acres of forest, and visit pretty Barbizon, village haunt of Impressionists Rousseau and Millet before we return to Rotterdam/Zeebrugge and board our overnight P&O Ferries' sailing, which departs that evening.
Day Five
Our ship arrives in Hull in the early morning, and once back in the UK we'll make our way to the local area by coach.
