The very best seasonal shopping
Enjoy a couple of festive days away on this great-value break. Combining fine food and gifts, family fun, entertainment and Bath's spectacular Christmas lights with a short tour of the lovely Cotswolds, including a visit to the historic Stow-on-the-Wold, this promises to be an un-missable pre-Christmas weekend!
Single rooms are available for a supplement
Leaving the local area in the morning we'll journey to the Georgian city of Bath. Arriving in the early afternoon, you'll then be free to visit the city's wonderful Christmas Market. Set between the famous Bath Abbey and Roman Baths, 120 wooden chalet-style stalls offer quality products and great gift ideas from handcrafted jewellery and decorations, to cards, toys and local produce.
You may also like to visit the restored Roman Baths and Museum, the 15th-century Abbey and the Assembly Rooms, or take advantage of the city's excellent shopping. After the chance to have an early evening meal, we'll head to our overnight hotel.
After breakfast we'll leave the hotel and head through the beautiful Cotswolds. Here gently rolling hills, tree-lined valleys and ancient woodland form the perfect backdrop for honey-coloured stone villages and famous market towns.
We will take in two of the area's most famous towns, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold with its impressive market square. There'll be plenty of time to explore both villages, and perhaps have lunch, before we head home in the mid-afternoon, arriving back in the local area by mid to late evening.
