My husband and I enjoyed the Autumn Gold in the Lakes trip - a brilliant excursion from start to finish. Thank you again and we are looking forward to the next trip.

Inspiring and breathtaking beauty
From the historic streets of Chester to the awesome beauty of the Lakes clothed in their autumnal splendour, there really is something for everyone on this ever-popular weekend break. A cruise on Lake Windermere and a trip on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are just two highlights awaiting you.
Single rooms are available for a supplement
Leaving the local area in the early morning we'll travel, through the picturesque villages and undulating hills of the Peak District, to our hotel. En route, we'll take in Matlock, Bakewell (home of the famous pudding) and beautiful and unspoilt Miller's Dale.
Today will reveal the breathtaking autumnal beauty of the Lake District. This landscape of majestic mountain scenery, flawless lakes and lush valleys is as varied and beautiful as any in the world, and has been beloved of artists throughout history.
We begin our tour with a ride, on the famous Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, down to the pier at Lakeside. Here we'll board the Windermere Steamer for a marvellous cruise up this largest and most beautiful of the Lakes to the charming town of Bowness-on-Windermere.
After breakfast we'll head home via the beautiful city of Chester. Explore the famous Rows - galleried tiers of shops dating back to medieval times; visit the fine sandstone cathedral; walk the city walls; or simply relax in a tea shop and watch the world go by.
We'll leave Chester in the early afternoon, arriving in your local area by mid to late evening.
Depending on demand, we may have to reverse Day Two's itinerary, with the railway journey and cruise taking place in the afternoon.
